Christopher led the Tongwynlais Band, with whom he is affiliated as their Resident Conductor, in an exciting concert in his hometown at Camborne Wesley Methodist Church on Saturday night. Performing two of his own works, Fanfare of a Nation and Lest We Forget, the event was attended by an audience of over two hundred who gave the band a standing ovation at the end of the evening, prompting not one but two encores!
Also featured throughout the evening was a selection of the band’s soloists which saw Solo Baritone, Georgie Evans deliver a faultless performance of John Golland’s ‘Peace’, Principal Euphonium Matt Rowe impress the audience with his own arrangement of the incredibly fast and virtuosic ‘Dance of the Goblin’, as well as newly appointed Solo Horn Emily Evans performing ‘In the Bleak Mid-Winter’ and Flugelhorn David James with ‘Away in a Manger’.
The band were thrilled to perform to such a receptive crowd, and hope to return again very soon.
