Owen Farr releases A New Dawn with title track from Christopher Bond Music

Owen Farr has released his second solo album with the Cory Band, A New Dawn, named after it’s title track by Christopher Bond. The work, written in late 2013 was premiered by Owen and the Cornwall Youth Brass Band on their 2013 Christmas Course under the baton of Richard Evans.

Opening triumphantly with a blaze of sound, the striking opening is certainly not what you’d normally expect for the opening of a tenor horn solo. Upon entry of the horn, the music transforms into it’s rhythmic nature with a catchy theme which reoccurs throughout the work.

The CD also features new works by other composers, very much reflecting it’s title ‘A New Dawn’. Works by Andrew Baker, Philip Harper, Tom Davoren, Lucy Pankhurst, Dan Price and Peter Meechan are all included.
